SUAV started in 2016 as a yoga clothing brand. It came as an alternative to the options available then (and even now), of tights and tight tops, mostly made of synthetic fabrics. There is nothing wrong with that, but some yoga practitioners prefer lighter clothes made of natural fabrics that look good on any figure.<\/p>\n
In fact, yoga clothes are, traditionally, light, made of natural materials and derived of everyday clothing. Looking for more information, we discovered dhoti, a style of pants worn in yoga, from which we were inspired for some of the models of pants.<\/p>\n

All SUAV products are responsibly manufactured in a workshop in Bucharest, with great attention to detail and finish, materials and colors. The design is minimalist, inspired by streetwear, unrestricted by seasonal trends and emphasizes comfort; we want everyone who wears them to feel at ease anywhere. Although they were created for yoga, our clothes are worn with great pleasure on the street or in the park, at home, or even at the office. They\u2019ve been on trips, at sea and parties\u2026 We didn\u2019t think of that at first, but we\u2019re glad that our clothes are worn beyond the yoga mat.<\/p>\n

Our clothes are made of natural materials: cotton or linen. The cotton we use is thicker than regular T-shirts, to last more than a season \u2013 we\u2019ve seen 4 years old SUAV tops, since the beginning of our trip, which still look flawless, maybe even because they\u2019re worn with love. We believe that they will last even more; we will follow this hypothesis. Even the ribbons used in our models are made of 100% cotton.<\/p>\n
We try not to produce more than we sell and to minimize the waste of unused materials. And for the pieces of material that inevitably result at the end of the cutting process, we are looking together with our partners from the tailoring workshop for ways to use them in other projects.<\/p>\n
We use paper packaging. Cute, colorful, like the clothes.<\/p>\n
When we create the models and choose the colors, we think of matching them with each other, so that they can be combined in as many outfit variants as possible. Like some kind of capsule wardrobe. <\/p>\n

With roots in two worlds, even three \u2013 yoga, fashion and local entrepreneurship, we follow closely the evolution of all these micro-universes and try to integrate into them and even connect them. Over time, we have had numerous collaborations with yoga studios and teachers, with local brands and events of yoga and wellness or with shops and events that support Romanian design.<\/p>\n
Over time, we began to feel a relevant part of the local yoga community, to understand the challenges it faces, and we felt that we could lend a helping hand.<\/p>\n
On the blog, we started to gather stories, first of yoga teachers<\/a>, then of practitioners. Today we have a large collection of stories that take to some extent the pulse of the Romanian yoga community. The project of the moment is #SuavHomeYoga, a journal about the practice of yoga in pandemics. Softly, without the need to dramatically change their lifestyle or principles.<\/p>\n That\u2019s how we started organizing yoga retreats \u201cwith a twist\u201d \u2013 authentic and interesting experiences. Yoga teachers, as well as all the partners who help us in creating these experiences, share our vision and standards, as well as the desire to do good.<\/p>\n Our events are rather meaningful journeys: a mix of activities designed around the theme of the retreat, in destinations with and story, in beautiful guesthouses, with character and comfortable. Yoga subtly works on many levels, without you realizing it \u2013 even if you limit yourself to physical practice, in time you will see that you are calmer, more balanced, in addition to the impact on the body. You don\u2019t have to be vegan or give up anything you enjoy. Yoga can be integrated into modern life just like any other healthy habit and can help increase the quality of life.<\/p>\n Today, SUAV is more than a brand of yoga clothing.
